Here are the Details of My TGA Episode, Before I Forget Them

by Jane 3/10/18

Thought I’d better write down the details of my episode of TGA before I forget it (small chance of that happening, right?)

Tuesday, March 6th was like any other morning...except that my dad who I was super close to, would’ve been 96 on that day (he passed away at 94). Woke up about 7, had coffee, did a little yoga, took a shower, got ready to meet my friends for breakfast. My husband got up around 8 & this is when the waters muddied. I recall him not wanting me to drive to meet them cuz of my behavior but I didn’t/couldn’t connect the two. Next thing I remember, I’m standing in the street staring at my damaged car & damage to the parked car I hit (less than a block away). I calmly (?...not sure!) walked home & told my husband what had happened. He yelled at me & walked back to the scene of the crime with me. I recall the police showing up & a tow truck. The incident lasted less than an hour. Other than a little dizziness reported to my husband and the police, afterward I felt fine.

Ironically or fortunately, I’d just had a physical the day before so I called for their advice & ended up in the ER. Life moved fast as they immediately proceeded with their stroke protocol & I had every test under the sun. All results were negative. That morning I didn’t feel especially stressed altho I’ve been living with a constant stress for 6 years with my husband’s myriad of issues including a botched robotic prostatectomy and a bone marrow transplant (leukemia) plus caring and or setting up care for my parents both in their 90s (they’ve since passed away).

I appreciate your patience in reading my story & your stories make me feel less unusual...I prefer the word unique! Ha!

I’m 67 & a long distance ocean swimmer. I take good care of myself: acupuncture, yoga, etc. This makes me want to never say no to fun stuff & never feel guilty for saying no to stuff that depletes my energy.
