Where does love go when a dear one dies,

 

does it go into the sky where it lingers and cries?

 

Or is it around you when the sadness and tears,

 

overwhelm your heart so it will help with your fears?

 

Maybe it goes out to another who is lonely and sad,

 

or hopefully to a person who is angry and mad.

 

Does it linger in the air, so when you take a breath,

 

you will think of life and not of the death?

 

Where does love go when a dear one dies?

 

Does it surround us with warmth for a heart that sighs?

 

Does it stay with the person that you miss so much,

 

or stay with the memories that only you can touch?

 

I believe love will stay if you take time to listen,

 

to the leaves in the air and the stars that glisten.

 

So cry when you have to and cherish the love,

 

for now you have an angel to watch from above.
