Are Multiple TGA's an Episodic Memory Loss?

My name is Sue. I have had a TGA three times. The first one was in January 2006, I lost 24 hrs. Second one was in May 2012, after the second one I saw a neurologist. The third one was December 2015. The first two were on Friday the 13th. Which is crazy!

I remember nothing; I only know what people have told me. After the third TGA, the doctor doesn’t call it TGA anymore since it’s not supposed to happen three times. My neurologist now calls it Episodic Memory Loss. My MRIs were clear, medically nothing was found. Good blood pressure, no heart problems, I am in good health, and nothing was ever found.

At this point I don’t know if it will happen again, no one knows. It’s very scary, and it’s as scary the third time as it was the first. If I have a day were I don’t feel great, I worry, but since I can’t remember how I felt in the being of each episode it’s very hard to know when it’s going to happen again and how I was feeling.

What is also scary is my father and both his sisters had Alzheimer’s. When I looked for a neurologist I did not want to jump to that conclusion. I don’t know which is scarier! So I looked for someone who would look beyond that. I went through so many tests. For every possibly, no answers! Seems like I hear more and more people having TGA’s, since I had my first TGA.

      That’s my story!
